EnEx-RANGE is the new project.
The Enceladus Explorer project is a research and development project funded by the DLR for a future space mission with the purpose of life on Saturn's moon Enceladus demonstrate. Here is a sample taken from a water-filled column below the ice surface.
This scenario will be tested in the Antarctic by sampling from a subglacial water reservoir. This includes developing navigation process in ice, as well as imaging of the apron is necessary. A possible probe of the so-called IceMole. This is a combined drilling and melting probe to take the opportunity by partial control of heating curves.
For this mission, in addition to conventional navigation solutions two acoustic navigation systems are developed - a positioning system based on multilateration and a sonographic advance exploration on the basis of ultrasonic phased arrays.
